Senior Consultant: Financial Risk Management (UK)

To contribute to the growth of our team in the UK we are seeking a client facing, driven experienced consultant to compliment the London office. Ideally with the ambition to work in a smaller team currently going through a startup phase. Engaging in a variety of risk related projects which demand flexibility and strategic thinking.

The role

You will join our ‘Financial Institutions’ team, a team of 50 Financial Risk Management Consultants (99% have a quantitative background). This team focuses on financial risk related projects for banks, insurers and asset managers. The team operates from our offices in The Netherlands, Switzerland and United Kingdom.

You will be involved in managing client projects, networking and contributing ideas and thought leadership. This is an ideal opportunity for a consultant or someone in banking to take the next step in their career. The role therefore offers entrepreneurship and the opportunity contribute to the content development of our FRM services.

Four days a week you will work on-site at the client with a team of Zanders colleagues. On Friday you will work at the London office. On this day you will catch up with your Zanders colleagues, join knowledge sessions and work on internal projects.


  • Advise financial institutions about their financial risk models, policies and governance
  • Support our clients in the implementation of their treasury and risk measurement and management
  • Translate (new) rules and regulations into business processes
  • Identify business opportunities for both existing and/or potential clients
  • Contribute to the knowledge sharing and development within the team
  • Proactively extending consultancy skills and the specialized knowledge necessary
  • Take project responsibility on the client’s site
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing and development within the team

Skills to be successful

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree, preferably in Econometrics or another quantitative study
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience in the field of financial risk management
  • Content knowledge surrounding ALM, market risk, credit risk and/or liquidity risk management
  • Familiarity with various financial products and their derivatives and with the regulatory landscape
  • Experience in consulting would be an advantage
  • Fluent in English with a second European language considered an advantage
  • Open to travel, mainly within Europe
  • Aspiration to work in a dynamic niche consultancy with the ambition of further developing content knowledge
  • Pro-active and entrepreneurial spirit, in combination with strong team work ethics
