Your role

As a Zanders Risk Manager you will join our ‘Financial Institutions’ team, a team of 60 Financial Risk Management Consultants. Most of the consultants (95%) have a quantitative background. Freedom, fun and flexibility play an important role in this team. The colleagues could be described as self-starters who are eager to push their boundaries and constantly challenge themselves.

Together with the team, you will advise financial institutions and corporates surrounding their risk technology solutions.  This could include a system selection and implementation or re-defining current technology practises and processes. This requires a broad perspective and an entrepreneurial spirit.

An average week has four working days on-site at the client and one working day at the office in Bussum. On Friday it is time to catch up with your Zanders colleagues and join knowledge and training sessions. We believe that deveoping our people by investing in them and by sharing knowledge and experiences is our differentiator and key to success.


  • Manage large scale risk technology projects
  • Taking a leading role in decision making and coaching of junior team members
  • Pro-actively researching market/product developments
  • Actively seeking out risk technology advancements
  • Identify new business/project opportunities both locally and internationally
  • Contribute in commercial activities such as presentations, RFP’s and events
  • Participating and hosting internal and external knowledge delegation sessions, such as risk management guest lectures/events and internal talent trainings

Skills to be successful

  • Master’s degree in Econometrics, Engineering or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years engagement in the financial risk management field
  • Knowledge of risk management technology (implementation and development)
  • Knowledge of risk systems as SAS, Algorithmics and/or Risk Metrics is preferred
  • Experience working with modeling techniques and technology developments
  • Quantitative mind-set with a focus on team work
  • Ambition to be part of a start-up team, prepared to contribute towards growth
