Keep your treasury knowledge up-to-date with Zanders’ Training

It is more evident than ever before that corporate treasurers are vital for the financial health of their company, while the role of treasurer is also taking on a broader range of responsibilities. To reflect this trend, Zanders is launching a new Benelux training course, covering the key areas of treasury where expertise is a must. The three-day course is tailored to financial professionals wishing to gain a greater understanding of treasury, as well as treasurers who would like to broaden their expertise in certain areas.

The course will take place over three days and will consist of a combination of formal training as well as case studies. Each day will look in turn at three areas of treasury management, including treasury organization, working capital and financial risk management. Day one concentrates on best practice in treasury organization, including cash management techniques and instruments, plus the best way to put idle balances to use. Participants will also learn more about treasury automation with a focus on the key topics of electronic banking and cash management structures.

The second day of the course will focus on how treasury can establish working capital levels – an area where the treasurer needs to collaborate with several other areas of the company, such as sales and finance. The day is scheduled to progress with sessions on cash flow management and ways of improving the accuracy of cash flow forecasts, while the afternoon session looks at corporate financing, including shareholder value creation, plus the execution of your corporate finance strategy.

Participants will learn about a variety of topics on the third day, including an introduction to risk management and how to establish an effective risk management framework. Techniques for hedging foreign exchange and interest rate risk will also be taught. The course will close with a discussion of implementing a risk strategy within the framework of IFRS, including the steps that need to be taken to implement hedge accounting.
